Refund policy

Plain-language refund handling for the UK business-to-business founding pilot.

Draft placeholder — not yet operative

This document requires owner approval and appropriate UK legal review before public payments are accepted.

Business purchase basis

MerchantProof currently accepts purchases made in connection with operating a trade or business. Checkout records the customer’s business or trading name, the accepted B2B terms version and the required business-purpose confirmation. That confirmation does not override the factual legal classification of a transaction.

Full refunds

MerchantProof provides a full refund when:

  • the case is discovered to be unsupported after payment;
  • a duplicate payment was taken;
  • MerchantProof cannot materially deliver the purchased service; or
  • the customer cancels before processing begins.

Partial delivery or defective work

The customer receives a reasonable opportunity to replace missing, unreadable or invalid evidence. If only part of the material service can be supplied, MerchantProof provides an appropriate partial or full refund. Material defects are corrected or the work is repeated where reasonable. If that is impossible or would cause unreasonable delay, an appropriate price reduction or refund is provided.

What does not create a refund by itself

Google refusing a review, maintaining a suspension or declining reinstatement does not by itself create a refund entitlement. MerchantProof supplies an independent diagnostic and does not guarantee Google’s outcome. An unused clarification or rescan has no separate cash value.

Method and records

The founding-pilot price is £99 total as a one-time charge. MerchantProof is not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Refunds return to the original payment method. MerchantProof does not impose an arbitrary cancellation charge, administrative penalty or deduction for Stripe processing fees. Refund decisions and payment reconciliation remain auditable without retaining unnecessary payment information or card details.

Scope changes

MerchantProof does not presently state that a statutory consumer 14-day cancellation period automatically applies to every customer. If purchases mainly outside a customer’s trade or business are accepted later, the cancellation and statutory-remedy requirements must be reviewed and implemented before those purchases are taken. Final legal and terms review remains an existing pre-live owner risk decision, not a development blocker.
